The
Azalea Festival has been an ongoing festival in the City of South Gate for over
43 years and counting. In years past
the festival was organized by local community organizations to have the local
residents of South Gate “Pretty-Up” the city and grow flowers and in return,
receive City awards and special recognition.
Since then, the festival has now become an annual city festival which
includes a week long schedule of community events. These events include
community organizations and club dinners, Festival Queen Selection, fashion
shows, track meet, car show, parade, and carnival. At this years festival we will be adding even more vendors,
famous headliner performers and a much larger carnival show for the
family. The attendance in past years
has been averaging 25,000-30,000 guests.
Our goal at this year’s festival is to increase the attendance to not
less than 50,000 guests. So, come join us and enjoy this wonderful festival in
